It gives an introduction to Sindh's rich historical and cultural background; the evolution of satellite television in Pakistan; an overview of theories relating to television and social change; an introduction to the qualitative and quantitative research tools employed for the study; and an evaluation of the changes taking place in the society. The book highlights the development of the means of mass communication, especially the electronic medium, to the recent phenomenon of satellite television beaming all over the world. It highlights how the setting and the message content of most of the programs considerably different from the existing state of socio-cultural conditions of a traditional society like that of Pakistan, has been able to influence the socio-economic development of the society.

The book has been translated in many languages so far.

Agriculture in Sindh: Issues & Options Agriculture in Sindh: Issues & Options:

Co-authored and edited the book published by SZABIST Center for Information and Research, Karachi in 2001. It is based on the study with the objective of examining and analyzing the causes behind deterioration in the agriculture sector of the country in general and Sindh province in particular. It highlights the ground realities in the agriculture in the province, taking into account the issues like land degradation, water shortage, input delivery, marketing, agriculture taxation, land tenure, landlord peasant relations and conditions in the sub-sector like fisheries and livestock. It also presents a set of suggestions for bringing improvements in the sector.
